Nepal has long been known for its exploration, trekking, mountaineering, and rich cultural diversity. Trekking in the high Himalayas has long been a popular activity in the nation, and one of the greatest places for adventure seekers to go is the Mustang region. The Mustang region consists of the Upper Mustang region, also known as Nepal's hidden gem and desert, and the Lower Mustang region, which links the most well-known Annapurna Circuit Trek in the world. Trekking paths in the Mustang region are a great option for individuals seeking to explore Nepal's hidden valley, which is a restricted area.
Mustang shares and exchanges the majority of its culture, traditions, rituals, and customs with the autonomous country of China (Tibet), with whom it shares a border. They also engage in trade. There is a lot of Tibetan culture, particularly on the Upper Mustang side. Wonderful sceneries with their breathtaking geography and topology will result from a large and arid region. You'll also have a surreal sense of being in a place akin to the Grand Canyon, shaded by the Annapurna Himalayan range. Beyond this section, the area consists of rivers, farmlands, prayer flags, stupas, caves, medieval monasteries, deep gorges, valleys, lush oasis, and high altitude desert.
The Mustang region is divided into two different areas, Upper Mustang and Lower Mustang with Lomanthang as the capital of the Mustang kingdom. Lower mustang covers the Marpha, Jomsom, Muktinath, and Kagbeni villages whereas
Upper mustang covers the ⅔ of the total area of the Mustang region. In both areas, a traveler can experience the authenticity of nature and culture at the same time. The Mustang region experiences less rainfall across the year, and due to the low precipitation rate, the land is more rugged and dry mostly. Likewise, you can explore this region across the year as well except in the prime winter season.
